Styling Versace

16 måneder siden

The third tribute of the season is Versace!

My absolute favorite pieces from the tribute have to be the gold jewelry from the 'La Vacanza' collection (the collaboration with Dua Lipa), featuring super cute butterfly and ladybug charms that reference prints from Spring/Summer 1995.

Starting with my first outfit, I styled a classic black corset with an orange low-rise miniskirt, then added the chain belt and matching choker, which I layered with a few other necklaces. I added some chain earrings, oval sunglasses, a black bag, and kitten heel mules. I then styled the butterfly choker again, but this time on its own with a black lace bustier and a sheer midi skirt with a multicolored heart print. I went for hoop earrings, some black sunglasses, and a pair of mules with the gold Versace Medusa on the front. For the bag, I chose another favorite from the tribute, the hobo bag that has been inspired by one originally from Fall 2003.

Next, I chose the pink cutout dress, styling it with some classic black pieces for contrast, but adding the bag with the gold Medusa hardware to tie in with the detail on the dress. For jewelry, I went for the signature Versace safety pin earrings and a chain bracelet, but you could also add a small gold choker. I then chose the light blue crinkled leather hobo bag, which is a great pairing with this off-the-shoulder ruched velvet dress. I also thought it was relevant to include this dress with the '90s theme of the Dua Lipa collab, as although it was from Spring 2018 (the collection marking the 20th anniversary of Gianni Versace's death), it was a reference to a dress from Fall 1995. I went for some strappy heels, then some layered necklaces, and simple hoop earrings, but just a pair of statement earrings and no necklaces would be nice too.

Next, I chose the knotted flared pants in black. I styled them with a green crystal chain dress reminding me of the 2000s dress-over-pants trend. I love how this dress in particular works with the pants as you can see the corset with the low v-shaped waist of the pants. I went for some heels with gold Medusa head detailing that ties in with the dress, the black hobo bag, and the safety pin earrings. To complete the outfit I added a black headband and sunglasses. I then chose this draped cutout top, which I paired with a draped mini skirt, but it also looks good with the flares from the previous outfit! I added the butterfly earrings with the matching chain belt and layered bracelets, a black bag with gold V hardware, and a pair of strappy heels. I then went for some red frame sunglasses for a little pop of color while still tying in with the embellishments on the jewelry.

For my last two outfits, I wanted to style the polka dot butterfly print from the La Vacanza collection. I love the clash between the butterflies and polka dots, and also the reference to Spring 2003 (one of my fave Versace collections) with the cross-over trims on the dress. I styled the dress with a pair of white cowboy boots, for a slightly dressed-down look, then went for the purple hobo bag (the orange version would also work). For jewelry, I added a crystal choker layered with a little necklace and some big hoop earrings. Finally, I styled the cap and printed scarf, going for a look inspired by Rihanna. I went for an oversized sports t-shirt with a pair of baggy jeans, as I really like the contrast between the different styles. To accessorize, I added some pointed-toe heels, a little black bag with silver buckle detail, and some sporty sunglasses.
