In fashion, every season brings new trends, whether completely fresh ideas or a past trend updated. In this case, the seventies revival has been a reoccurring trend since 2014, and its popularity continues to grow. With this blog post I am going to explore two key sides to this trend.

My first outfits focus on prints. Prints are ever-popular on the runway, but the seventies style appeared a lot on the Spring/Summer '17 runway, from florals at Chloé and Gucci to psychedelics at Miu Miu and Prada. With the first outfit, I chose a printed shirt and paired it with classic flares, statement hoops and a fur vest, while with the second outfit I paired the patchwork-style skirt with a crisp shirt, doorknocker earrings and an oversized fur coat. I kept my outfits simple, but clashing prints would also work perfectly.

My last two outfits focus on the glam side of the seventies, inspired by Studio 54 and Saturday Night Fever. This look was seen at Nina Ricci, Armani and of course, perfected at Gucci. The style is all about sequins and metallic, but in comfortable silhouettes (with room to dance about in) such as an oversized coat, wide-leg pants, or a jumpsuit.

With the first outfit, as the coat was such a statement piece, I styled it with a white silk shirt and black flares, accessorizing with hoops, a minimal choker and chain belt. The second outfit includes this amazing gold glitter jumpsuit! With the crossover design, there was no need for a necklace, so I stuck to statement earrings and bracelet, and then added a metallic clutch for a pop of colour. A black fur coat would work perfectly to complete the look.
