The StarBlog Diaries: turkiye

57 maanden geleden

Meet Nur (aka: turkiye), a very fashion-forward adult player from France, who is currently enrolled in a masters program to become a teacher. Before embarking on her studies, Nur explored medicine, law, and a Sciences de l’éducation license. Nur has had a unique education and does not regret their journey thanks to all the positive things it brought into their life from friends, to knowledge in different fields. Nur's mother tongue is Turkish and is trilingual thanks to having Turkish parents and a French education. Turkiye's doll has garnered attention within the community for having an impeccable sense of style.

Tell us about your Stardoll journey!

"I discovered Stardoll on xcrapulex, it was a gaming website. I began to dress up dolls on there. My older sister created an account and then after the account got deleted, I decided to open one for myself. I first joined in 2009. I just came back recently. What inspired my username is the country I’m from: Turkey! Turkiye means Turkey in Turkish. My least fav thing on the game is definitely the leveling up process. I mean we have to collect 500 Starpoints but we get only 100 SC or 10 SD if we’re lucky… Not that its worth all the work, but I want to reach level 200 so badly, which is why I keep trying to collect Starpoints.

My favorite things to do include dressing up my dollie, changing my wig, shopping limited releases, shopping for stuff in StarBazaar. I love also visiting my friends, leaving them comments. I also love winning awards! My advice for the students don’t ever waste too much time here, because it can have important repercussion in your student life as well as socially, economically, and the most important: your grades!"

Let's talk culture!

"France is an amazing country!
The culture that I’m more in touch with is the French one. Besides that my roots are Turkish, I feel more French because I was born here, and raised here. All my life belongs to French culture! As I said it before, I’ll be a teacher and so I will teach everything about France to my pupils.

On Stardoll ,Turkish people are always dragging me because my country flag is French but my nickname is Turkiye. They never believe me when I say I live in France. I love France because of how I grew up with lots of people from all over the world. France is a beautiful country where there are a lot of immigrants.
I love being a part of this culture because we are all French with different roots that’s make France a rich country with diversity!
Also something I really stan about France...

is that no matter the baccalauréat you have, you can always do whatever studies you want. I personally have a ES baccalauréat but I’ve done medicine, and law. No matter what baccalauréat you have all the roads are open for you.

Something I really dislike is when you go to fancy places and you’re wearing a hijab you’re not la “bienvenue” at all. It’s mainly because of all the terrorist attacks we’ve suffered but we have to disassociate Terrorism and Islam.

I’m furious about the fact that even in France, women are paid less even if they have the same diploma as men. People of color are paid less, even if they also have the same diploma as white people. It’s a multicultural country that should change and not discriminate minorities.

fun fact is that France is known for the croissant! The croissant was created in Austria. The reason for it's creation was to celebrate the defeat of Ottomans in Christian forces in Vienna. The croissant has the shape of a crescent as it symbolizes the Islamic religion."
