Trying Contour
Hello!
Ever since StarDesign Hair came out, contour has come to be a really big part of many dolls' looks. You see it everywhere -- being sold in StarBazaars, on the Broadcast, and on many Covergirl winners. I myself don't use contour, but I decided to design one myself in Straight Up to try it out.
As you can see, I created a contour that works on one side of the face. I mainly contour the sides of face such as the cheekbones, chin, eye, and forehead. This is the look on a doll. I will include it on only one side of the face so you can see the difference.
On an actual doll's face, you can really see the difference! You can see the highlight and contour vividly. I really liked this little experiment myself, and it was interesting to see how drastically the contour changed my doll's face. I think that contour is very useful for your doll. It adds dimension and highlight, and if you choose you can add a little color, too. A con for designing your own contour is that it is very hard when you start out. I went through a lot of trial and error before I got to the type of contour I wanted.
What do you think of contour?
Maria
