Hello, dolls!

Today's look is a soft purple or mauve take on the smokey eye, subtle enough for everyday wear - yet add a bold berry lip, and you are making a gorgeous statement makeup look. 

Eyes: Eyes are essential in this look - and we've called in the cavalry for purple eyeshadow. Start with a softer mauve as a base shadow all over the lid, and choose bolder or darker shades on the outer corners to create a gradient. If you have a lavender, open up the inner eyes and further the gradient. For added definition, I also used a soft, pinky-brown on the crease area, and a deep purple-pink eye pencil on the very edge of my waterline. Finish with a dramatic wing - if you want another pop of colour, use a colourful eyeliner on the waterline.

Lips: If you are looking for a more wearable look, choose a soft, nude pink. However, if you are addicted to bold lips (as I am), layer berry shades, deep purples and pinks to reach the perfect complimentary colour. The colour should be a touch darker than the outer corner of the eyes.

Face: No dramatic look is complete with a bit of highlight and contour. Forgoing under eyebrow highlight, I chose to focus on creating prominent cheekbones. Sweep brown blush or bronzer under the cheekbones to define them, and place blush a few shades lighter than skin tone to make them pop.
