Not too long ago, the only people who knew the name Aaron Paul were viewers of The Price is Right, but times have certainly changed for the young rough-and-tumble actor. Paul is now most well known for his Emmy Award-winning performance on AMC’s hit show Breaking Bad. The 32-year-old actor, who won the Emmy in 2010 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series plays Jesse Pinkman on the show, a troubled wannabe gangster with a big heart and an astounding amount of charm. We can’t help it: despite his cheesy lingo and oversized pants, there’s something about Jesse that is undeniably attractive. Whatever it is, this baby-faced bad boy has totally stolen a piece of our hearts! But who was Paul before he was a cast member of the six-time Emmy Award-winning show? Turns out, he isn’t quite the bad boy we envisioned him as. In fact, he was the son of a minister who got his acting career started by performing in his church’s plays. From there, he realized his heart was set on acting and since then, he’s made various appearances on shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, CSI, and most recently Big Love. Paul even played a role in the movie Mission: Impossible III, but his real fame began when he pulled on a beanie on the set of the AMC show. Originally, Paul’s character Jesse was supposed to be killed off at the end of the first season, but after only a couple of episodes, Vince Gilligan, the director, realized that would be a mistake as he watched Paul light up the set alongside Bryan Cranston, who plays Walter White, the show’s main character. Even though we’ve blown Paul’s bad boy cover, we’re still totally obsessed and can’t wait for the final season of Breaking Bad to begin on July 15th. Our only question for today’s crush of the week is, what next?

Resortwear has landed, and 2013 has several hot summer trends in store. We’re having so much fun browsing through our favorite designers’ latest collections, so we’ve rounded up six obsess-worthy trends to look forward to. Take a peek!

    1. Keyhole Cutouts
(from left) Burberry Prorsum, Hervé Léger by Max Azria, Mara Hoffman; courtesy of the designers

Cutouts have been the thing for quite some time now, and while they range in many shapes and placements, it seems a very popular trend right now is the keyhole cutout at the chest. This detail can really take an average top or dress from forgettable to eye-catching and always adds a pop off flirty style.

    2. Furry Shawls (from left) Rachel Zoe, 10 Crosby Derek Lam, Zero + Maria Cornejo; courtesy of the designers

Fur accents are always chic, and this season designers are adding shoulder-hugging furry shawls to their looks. This trend is a great alternative to a jacket on cool nights and will instantaneously amp up the glam factor of any look.

    3. Native & Tribal Prints (from left) Alice by Temperly, BCBG Max Azria, Mara Hoffman; courtesy of the designers

Native prints continue to be on-trend season after season, probably because they never fail to look cool. Not to mention there are so many different inspirations and heritages to pull from! This season, we’re seeing lots of African- and Egyptian-inspired prints along with basic Navajo-esque geometrics.

    4. Embellishment Overload (from left) Just Cavalli, Carlos Miele, Reed Krakoff; courtesy of the designers

Every girl loves a little glitz, and this trend is sure to please. Heavily embellished pieces, such as these sequin- and bead-coated frocks, are everywhere right now. These heavy items give a super luxe look and create unimaginable dimension for an extraordinary effect.

    5. Leather Items (from left) Alice by Temperly, Jason Wu, 3.1 Phillip Lim; courtesy of the designers

Forget the basic leather jacket—this timeless fabric has entered the next phase of fashion. Leather skirts, pants, and even overalls can be spotted in all the latest collections, so keep an eye out for unique ways to wear it yourself. For instance, by substituting leather pants in the place of jeans, you’re bound to turn heads and automatically be deemed a trendsetter.

    6. Bold Stripes (from left) Thakoon, Jason Wu, BCBG Max Azria; courtesy of the designers

Whether it’s on two-piece summer sets or two-piece bathing suits, thick and colorful stripes can be seen adorning summertime duds this season. This bold stripe pattern gives off a fun, young, and clean look that is great in bright colors for daytime outfits.

Project Runway is about to embark on its tenth season, and to celebrate, it’s holding a special fashion show. New York City officials gave the greenlight for the PR crew to stage the first ever fashion show in Times Square on Friday night, WWD reports. Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors, and Nina Garcia will all be there—at Times Square’s northern triangle, bordered by Broadway and Seventh Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets—sizing up the work of 16 budding designers. And those in the crowd may even wind up on the season’s premiere episode, when it debuts on Lifetime—no word on the official premiere date yet.

They say fashion repeats itself, but here’s one trend we never thought would come back on top (at least in our lifetime): overalls. This two-buttoned romper was a childhood favorite of ours, and now it’s popping up again—this time on stylish stars like Katie Holmes, Liv Tyler, and Alexa Chung. And this isn’t the first time overalls had a moment: In spring/summer 2010, Ralph Lauren set off a brief craze when he debuted stitched and patched pairs on his runway. So even though this trend isn’t the most flattering—The Man Repeller herself recently wrote a post on the onesie styled denim—we love it for its utilitarian style, comfort, and functionality (just look at all of those pockets!). Different designers are putting their own spin on the age-old trend this season, debuting pairs with stripes and rips in different lengths and colors. We’ve rounded up our favorite ones below, so get back on board with the trend! Photo: Courtesy of Shopbop Joe’s Jeans short overalls, $154. At last night’s Tony Awards, hosted at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, three A-list style stars brought their game to the red carpet. Awards presenter Jessica Chastain, who coincidentally is set to make her Broadway debut this fall, wore a daring nude Marios Schwab dress, while fellow presenter Amanda Seyfried (who is starring in the upcoming Broadway film adaptation of Les Miserables) chose a lacy Givenchy slipdress. Emma Stone, meanwhile, attended in support of her boyfriend Andrew Garfield, who was nominated for his work in Death of a Salesman. She skipped the red carpet, but see her white Narciso Rodriguez gown after the cut.

Kim Kardashian is known for her stunning tresses and—of course—her signature ballerina bun. Some of Kim’s hairstyles certainly take hours to perfect plus the help of hair stylists to boot, but luckily this one can be done insanely quickly. Nothing says “chic” like a sleek, no-fuss hair-off-the-face look, so take a page out of Kim’s style book and try this classic ‘do out for yourself. Just follow these simple steps, and you’ll be all caught up with this Kardashian!

You’ll need: a hairbrush, a hair elastic, bobby pins, hairspray, an old tube sock, and a pair of scissors.

    1. Take your old sock and cut off the toe area so that the sock is now just a tube.

    2. Open the sock and roll the edges repeatedly outwards until you have created a thick O-shaped band; put it aside.

    3. Flip over your head and brush your hair up into a tight, slick ponytail with no part.

    4. Apply hairspray all over scalp area to settle fly-aways and smooth hair.

Living Proof hold firm hairspray, $24.

    5. Take your sock roll (you can also use a hair donut) and pull your ponytail through the hole in the center, leaving it firmly planted at the base of your ponytail.

    6. Take the hair from your ponytail and spread the ends evenly around the sock roll or hair donut covering the exposed fabric.

    7. Once the sock roll or hair donut is totally concealed, take all ends from the ponytail and tuck and wrap them around the base of bun.

    8. Secure all loose ends from the ponytail with bobby pins and coat with hairspray.

    9. Dance around and pretend you’re Natalie Portman in Black Swan!

Yves Saint Laurent just got a new actress face, and now its founder’s story is headed to the big screen—twice over. After the Saint Laurent documentary L’amour Fou premiered last year, two new projects are in the works, WWD reports. The first—directed by Jalil Lespert—focuses on the designer’s relationship with his partner of 50 years, Pierre Bergé, who has apparently given the project his approval (he had previously granted interviews for L’amour Fou). The second, which does not have Bergé’s blessing, reportedly focuses on YSL’s launch and heyday in the ’60s, and is directed by Bertrand Bonello.

Ashley Tisdale can always be spotted in trendy duds no matter where she is. We especially loved this laidback look she wore while doing some shopping in West L.A. The singer and actress wore a bright white outfit that was perfect for summer and added a few splashes of blue to make the look pop. Wearing all white is something we don’t see enough, but when we do it always looks clean and crisp. Ashley is a prime example of how this light and bright look can work for you too! Originally from London, Sarah Rutson holds the post of fashion director at Lane Crawford, Hong Kong’s preeminent luxury store—what some would call Asia’s answer to Bergdorf Goodman. She’s the trend and fashion spokesperson for the company—where she identifies trends, new design talent, and ensures each collection is properly represented—and manages to do it all with elegance and grace. Formerly a buyer at Marks & Spencer in the UK, Rutson has now been with Lane Crawford since 1993 (she took a brief hiatus). After returning in 2004, she’s helped usher LC into a new era as Asia’s leading specialty store (and wears killer daily outfits while doing it). Here’s Ms. Rutson’s humbling 10.

ELLE: What is your favorite smell?

Sarah Rutson: A really fresh smell of lemons and limes.

ELLE: What do you consider the epitome of happiness?

SR: My husband Andrew and daughter Eliza—nothing means anything to me without them.

ELLE: How do you define luxury?

SR: My personal luxury is time. Time seems to fly too fast, so I cherish time spent on things that truly matter.

ELLE: What is the last dream you remember?

SR: All my teeth falling out while I was sitting on The Star Ferry! (That’s one for Sigmund Freud).

ELLE: What’s your favorite childhood memory?

SR: My dad making up stories at bedtime. He had the best imagination and he was the best storyteller. He would always fall asleep midway through telling me a story. I would feel so happy and secure.

ELLE: What’s the last book you read and loved?

SR: I love reading biographies because I’m always interested in other people’s lives. I just finished reading about Peter Finch. He was a totally fascinating man and had a great story.

    ELLE: Describe your home’s aesthetic.

SR: It is modern mixed with traditional English elements. It’s a home—and that’s the most important aesthetic.

ELLE: What are your vices? SR: I’ve been told it’s my sarcasm!

ELLE: Describe yourself in 5 words or less. SR: Humorous, candid, loving, forgiving, loyal.

ELLE: What possession will you never throw away?

SR: All my love letters and notes from my daughter Eliza and my husband Andrew. Everything in my life is disposable and fleeting except for my family.
