Black Smokey Eyes

93 miesięcy temu

Hello, dolls!

While makeup trends come and go, there are a few classic makeup looks that will never stop going around - red lipstick, cat-eye, and black smokey eyeshadow. The origins of the smokey eye look date back to 3500 B.C.E. when ancient egyptian queens wore kohl around their eyes. Centuries later, the products and colors have evolved, yet the central theory remains. Black smokey eyes create a sultry, alluring look that remains popular to this day.

However, this eyeshadow look is notoriously hard to pull off. If done incorrectly, you may end up looking as if you have a black eye rather than a smokey black eye. For my look, I began by using a grey shadow along the lids. When applying eyeshadow on Stardoll, I find the best technique is to position the brush actually on the eye, to ensure the shadow doesn't go to the eyebrows area. Run over this line again with a black shadow, going darker on the crease. This is the basic smokey eye.

We continue with a black eye pencil along the top and outer crease of the eye, and on the waterline. This step adds definition to the whole eye. Use a liner along the upper lash line and create a wing (if desired). Finish with lengthening and volumizing mascara.

Some extras you might wish to include: Lining the inner corner of your eyes with a white liner will really open up your eyes and ensure that they aren't all just black. Also, if you have a beige, pearl or white shadow, you may choose to do a small, subtle line just under your eyebrows - this is known as highlighting your brow bone.
