Making Peace With Your Body!

Today's world makes it hard for us to love ourselves. Outside messages tell us what they think we should look like, but the image that they sell is impossible to attain. 

We can use the power that we hold within ourselves to work towards making peace with our bodies and realising that health and happiness are more important than a certain look.

Here are some ways to start making peace with your body!



Connect with your body
Feeling a connection between your mind and your body can help you make friends with the way you look and realise all the things your body can do. To start making this connection, try taking a walk in nature and concentrating on everything you feel - grass on the soles of your feet, the cool breeze on your face, and the birds singing in the distance. Try to appreciate the way your body lets you feel and experience the world!


Find positive inspiration
If you often look at pictures of people whose bodies make you feel bad about yourself, try replacing those pictures with ones containing positive messages and a wide range of different body types. Beauty comes in all different shapes and sizes!


Focus on your health and wellbeing
Many people think that focusing on health means changing the way your body looks, but this is often not the case.  Unless you have specific instructions to lose or gain weight from a doctor, it's best to focus on eating plenty of nutritious foods, exercising, and working on your body image!  Remember - looks always fade with time, but health will support you throughout your entire life.
