The Beyonce Fly: The Diva of Flies!

There's more news to Beyonce than her baby girl Blue Ivy, the Australian science agency, CSIRO, recently named a fly after the singer! The fly was first collected in 1981 – the year of the Beyonce's birth, but that's not the only thing they have in common. Another reason the fly was named Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae was it's golden behind, which Bryan Lessard, from CSIRO, says makes it "all-time diva of flies". "It was the unique dense golden hairs on the fly's abdomen that led me to name this fly in honour of the performer Beyoncé," he says. Ha, this is so much fun! But wonder if Beyoncé (describes as the ultimate diva) thinks so? (telegraph)
