Let's face it - Stardoll is a game primarily designed for female members. While there are options to make your doll male and buy male clothes, female clothes are much, much more present in stores, campaigns and special offers. 

That's why it is no wonder many male members represent their dolls as girls. Maybe they are ashamed because they like girl clothes - but they shouldn't, as everyone has a right to love fashion and dress whichever they like. Also, in order to have your doll female, you have to go into settings and change your doll gender to a female. So unless you have stated otherwise in your presentation, members will automatically assume you are a girl.

Eventually, some female users might come out as males. While that can be a bold move to members to make, being afraid how will they be accepted, they should have no need to worry. 

Personally, during my time on Stardoll, I had several 'girl' friends that turned out to be boys in real life. Do you know what changed? Nothing!! Absolutely nothing! It never changed the way I saw them, the way I treated them. We remained friends and kept supporting each other.

So if you are a male member on Stardoll, yet you are into fashion and love wearing real life inspired brands, make your doll whatever you want. You have nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to worry about. The right people will support you, and those who don't... well, you don't really have to worry about them.
